Project Green Teen
Coming Soon – check back later for availability.

Help clean up our community while earning community service credit. Borrow a kit, complete with the necessary tools to pick up trash, using one of the provided trash bags, take a selfie with it, and email the Teen librarian for 2 hours of community service! Kits must be checked out with a Young Adult South Country Library card.

  • All Community Service opportunities are for South Country Library patrons only. All others seeking community service hours must visit their home library.
  • Volunteers will receive a community service letter for the amount of hours volunteered for each program. Lost or misplaced letters will not be replaced. It is the responsibility of the Young Adult not library staff to keep track of their own volunteer hours.
  • Any paperwork needed to be signed can be done so Monday to Thursday from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at the Young Adult Desk, unless prior arrangements have been made. Please call ahead to ensure someone is available.
  • All requests for additional community service projects beyond what is offered must be made at least one week in advance to the YA Librarian. Additional projects are not always available and depend on the library’s needs.
  • While the South Country Library offers various community service opportunities, we can not guarantee that the hours earned will be accepted. Please check with the organization to ensure that opportunities are acceptable and meet volunteer requirements.
