Children’s Area
South Country Library
For children newborn through going into 5th grade. Sign up at the Children’s Desk to get a reading record and get your name on the bulletin board. You can sign up any time from this date on. Then read or listen to books, AND visit the library once per week to get a weekly prize. Prizes start the week of July 1. Children should read or listen for at least 20 minutes per week to earn a prize. For every hour beyond the minimum, children will earn a weekly raffle ticket, limit of 3 tickets per week. PLUS, only Summer Reading Club participants will be invited to the Summer Finale Raffle at the end of the club to try to pick a free book and try to win great prizes!
SPECIAL! The Bronx Zoo donated a prize basket with 4 free tickets to the zoo, a t-shirt, stuffed animal and water bottle. Any child who signs up for the Summer Reading Club between June 24 – 27 will automatically be entered in the raffle!
Children going into 6th grade can join the Teen Reading Club. Please see the Teen Dept. for details.
