The Great Give Back is a community service initiative created by the Suffolk County Public Library Directors Association and the Suffolk Cooperative Library System, in conjunction with the Nassau Library System.

The mission of The Great Give Back is to provide a day of opportunities for the patrons of the Public Libraries of New York State to participate in meaningful, service-oriented experiences. For more information visit:

Color a Smile

Stop by the library and take a moment to color a cheerful drawing for those in need of a smile.

Collections (all month Long)
Baby Items

The Library is collecting “new” baby items to be donated to Lighthouse Mission to help new moms in need.

Items needed include: new and unopened diapers, wipes, bottles, pacifiers; new and unexpired baby food and formula; clothing, hats, bibs, socks, blankets, etc.

Pennies for Pets

All month long we will be collecting loose change at the Patron Services Desk. All money generously donated will be given to Almost Home Animal Rescue.

Give or Take Food Pantry (all year long)

The Library is collecting non-perishable, non-expired food items to help our neighbors in need. Donations can be dropped off any time that we are open.
