Summer Reading Clubs

 We have Summer Reading Clubs for all ages! From newborn to 100 years old, there’s chances for fun and prizes for everyone this summer!

How do I sign up and log books?

Sign up for all clubs and logging of books begins on Monday, June 28th.

Children’s sign up is in person so you can visit the Children’s desk to register and receive all of your materials.
YA and Adult will be in person and also online using READSquared. Click here to go to the READSquared website and create your account, you can also download the READsquared app from the Google Play or Apple App store for easy access.

What can I read?

Anything you’d like! Any format of book is acceptable…picture books, print books, e-books, audio-books, graphic novels. You can use the Libby app or come in and check out any format of book you wish!

Children’s Summer Reading Club (Newborn to entering 5th Grade in September)

For children newborn through going into 5th grade in Fall 2021 who are residents or summer resider within the South Country District area.

Sign up at the Children’s Desk (or call us from the library parking lot) and get your reading record and a pretend passport. Read or listen to books, come back during the prize weeks indicated on the reading record. You have a 2 week period to collect a prize for the reading or listening you’ve done. You need to read or listen for a minimum of 20 minutes. One prize per child per prize period.

Teen Summer Reading Club (Entering 6th Grade in September to High School Seniors)

You can register for the program and record your reading and activities online using READSquared
f you would like to register in person and receive paper reading/activity logs, please stop by the Teen Service Desk at anytime to receive your “passport”. In person raffle boxes are located behind the Teen Service Desk.

You log by pages or entire book, or if you prefer, by hours.  Redeem your points for raffle tickets to great prizes. The more you do this summer (read, programs and missions), the more points you will earn!  You will have until August 22nd to redeem your raffle tickets. All raffles winners will be chosen on August 23rd. A list of raffle prizes will be listed in READSquared and here on Monday, June 28th.

Adult Summer Reading Club (18 years old and up)

As usual each book you read will equal one raffle chance! We’ll be raffling off weekly prizes for 6 weeks. Raffle prizes are listed on the Adult Summer Reading Club Page, link is below.

If you are participating in person, come to the Reference Desk for paper Reading Logs. Each reading log acts as a raffle ticket for the prize of your choosing. Put all your tickets in one box, spread them through different boxes, it’s up to you!

If you are participating online, then log it in READsquared to receive a point. That point can then be redeemed for a raffle ticket for whichever raffle you’d like! You can also earn bonus raffles this year by completing the missions in READSquared!
